In an exclusive sit-down interview for Sony Xperia's Artists Featured online series, legendary disco producer Giorgio Moroder offered details about that much-anticipated collaborative track he recently did with princess of pop Britney Spears.
The Italian DJ is to release this Spring his first solo album in 30 years via RCA Records and it's going to be packed with 'collabs' featuring major pop artists: Kylie, Britney, Sia, among others. Evidently the most anticipated of the bunch is Giorgio's track with Britney, unfortunately, when speaking about it at this Sony Xperia interview Mr. Moroder dropped a ‘bomb’ that we weren’t expecting. The duet is going to be a "a cover of an old song". And it seems the blame rests on Brit Brit. “Britney actually came to me. She asked me if I was interested in doing an old song, which obviously I liked and I knew. She came to the studio and she did it relatively fast and absolutely gave the track her special touch”, Giorgio Moroder told the Sony Xperia reporter.
I must admit I was looking forward for this song to be an original (he did an original withKylie Minogue), BUT if this ‘old song’ they decided to cover turns out to be a really good pick then I might love it as well. What could it be!? Any guesses?
Also, not that I'm saying Mr. Giorgio is a cheap liar, but I just find it so hard to believe that it was Britney herself that approached him to do a collaboration.
