Kendrick Lamar heads back to Compton in the video for “I”, the lead single from rapper’s forthcoming third studio album due in stores “soon” via Interscope Records. The MV for the high-energy empowering hip-hop song was unveiled on VEVO at midday today, November 4th.
The “I” 70’s-inspired video was shot entirely at night time in the city of Compton, California and it shows Kendrick Lamar (looking a bit high maybe?) dancing around town, getting a haircut or taking his body out the window on a moving car. Kendrick’s outfit of choice for this video was: black jeans, white t-shirt and a brown hat.
“I” is a dope record but it only managed to peak at #39 on the Hot 100 and it’s currently on its way down. It’s on its way down on urban radio too. Hopefully this cool music video will help revert the situation.
