New Music: Union J - "Beautiful Life"

Union J Beautiful Life cover artwork British boy band Union J premiered this morning on Capital FM their new single "Beautiful Life" off of their upcoming self-titled debut album due in stores October 28. "Beautiful Life" is the follow-up to Union J's first single, the friendship anthem "Carry You". That song only peaked at #6 in the UK, a quite worrisome charting performance. Will "Beautiful Life" be the savior that saves the group's album from sales disaster?. Listen above, sound off below. Why do Sony/Syco think this mid-tempo sound is the best for Union J?. After the disappointment of "Carry You" they should have switched styles, and bring something fresher to the table. Union J needed an up-tempo, catchy hit for single #2. I am afraid "Beautiful Life" will have the same, or worse fate of "Carry You". The new single is a tad boring, or at least it doesn't cause a huge impact on the first listen. The "pick it up, pick it up" lyrics are the only thing that I liked, in fact. First thing that I thought when hearing "Beautiful Life" was...'B-SIDE'. Single #3 must be up-tempo, otherwise, their career will be in danger. Union J's "Beautiful Life" hits iTunes UK on October 21st.
