“Yung Rapunxel” (stylized “#YUNGRAPUNXEL“) is a song recorded by American rapper Azealia Banks. The track is the highly-anticipated lead single of her debut “Broke with Expensive Taste” that’s scheduled for release sometime this year via Interscope Records. Spending most of 2012 writing and recording the album, she revealed that the album “[has been] FIVE years in the making“, and that she had “written ALL new material” for the album, “except for the hit single 212“. She initially announced that the album’s lead single would be a track called “Miss Amor“, and that it would be accompanied by a B-side called “Miss Camaraderie“. However, these plans were changed and she revealed on January 28, 2013, that the first official single from the album would be a song called “Yung Rapunxel“. The single is scheduled for release on digital retailers on March 26th, 2013. The music video was filmed in late-February and it was directed by Jam Sutton and produced by Sarah Park via Doomsday Entertainment.
