Katy Perry “Super Bowl XLIX Halftime Show” (Video Performance)

Are you ready to ROAR? This is a HUGE. Katy Perry has performed at this year’s Super Bowl halftime show. I’m dead.

Perry’s performance was speculated since August last year after the National Football League had reportedly shortlisted her along with Coldplay and Rihanna, who saw the use of her song “Run This Town” with Jay-Z axed in a segment during the wake of the Ray Rice scandal.

The news of those three contenders also came with word the league was asking those artists under consideration to pay to play, since last year’s broadcast drew a record-setting 111.5 million viewers and previous performers have all seen significant boosts in sales, touring and public profile.

Finally, on November 23, 2014, NFL announced that Perry would be responsible to perform at the Super Bowl XLIX halftime show on February 1, 2015.

The singer confirmed on January 11, 2015 that she would have a guest artist in her performance, no less than Lenny Kravitz!

The second guest surprise act to perform with Perry in the stage is American rapperMissy Elliott.

During a Billboard interview, Perry hints that collaboration, she said:

Yes, of course. There were a couple of names I tossed around and this one really stuck. I thought OK, it’s time for this person to have their shine again. (…) Let’s just say I’ve been familiar with them before in a roundabout way.
