It seems Lana Del Rey has left quite neglected the promotion of her not-so-successful second major studio album “Ultraviolence“, released on June 13, 2014 via Polydor and Interscope. But, keep calm, the American singer-songwriter has something new to delight all her fans.
Del Rey is confirmed as the responsible for singing the main theme of the upcoming biographical film “Big Eyes“, directed by Tim Burton focusing on American artist Margaret Keane, whose work was fraudulently claimed in the 1950s and 1960s by her then-husband, Walter Keane.
The film tells the story of their heated divorce trial wherein Margaret accused Walter of stealing her paintings. Margaret Keane will be played by Amy Adams, with Walter being portrayed by Christoph Waltz.
The song titled as the film “Big Eyes“, was written by Del Rey and it’s scheduled to premiere later this month. The film opens in theaters on December 25, 2014, by The Weinstein Company.
But, there are still more, the singer also sings anothe track called “I Can Fly“, which runs over the end credits.
This is the third time that Del Rey sings the main theme for a movie. Remember in 2013, she sang the original song “Young and Beautiful“ on “The Great Gatsby” and aperfect rendition of Disney classic “Once Upon a Dream“ on “Maleficient” soundtrack.
The official lyric video of the theme song “Big Eyes” was exclusively premiered onYahoo! Movies on December 1st.
