New Music: Lana del Rey - 'Flipside' [Review]
Purchase Lana del Rey's new album 'Ultraviolence' from this Tuesday, June 17, at Target stores across the U.S and you'll get the exclusive bonus track, 'Flipside'. The moody indie-rock song is co-written by Lana and Blake Stranathan.
International fans of the NYC chanteuse will also have the chance to get 'Flipside' legally depending on their location. If you’re in Europe, get ‘Ultraviolence’ at FNAC stores, and if you’re in Japan, just get the deluxe edition of the second Lana album.
When it comes to Lana’s ‘exclusive' bonus tracks (iTunes, Target, etc), for some reason I always get the feeling Lana should have included all of these on the regular, worldwide editions of her albums. The tracks are so good, it just ain't fair that only a few get to actually buy them legally and the rest have to resort to find them on the Internet however they can. ‘Flipside’ is another example of this. It’s such a great record. From production to lyrics, everything is ‘flying’. This woman just cannot make bad music. And if we talk comparisons, 'Flipside' deserved to be more on the deluxe edition of 'Ultraviolence' than 'Guns and Roses' for instance.
