A Very Weird (Concept) Demo of 'Applause' by Lady Gaga Surfaces: Listen!
Wooo! Yaaay! Check out this ‘demo’ of Lady Gaga’s ‘Applause’ which has just surfaced online. It’s only 1:31 minute-long, but we get to listen to the original ‘Applause’ without all the editing done in post-production. According to the leaker, the vocals in this demo were recorded by Gaga (no, it's not Miranda Sings, it's 100% Gaga!) using her iPad. There are actual applauses in this demo recording, as well as a number of 'wooo!' and 'yaaay!'. Oh, and DO NOT MISS that life-giving breakdown towards the end. It's amazing.
Thank you so much to monsters and MTV. VMA Japan has awarded 'Applause' Best Pop Video of the Year! #ArtSLAY@inezandvinoodh#BangTheGong

Is this demo better than the finished product included on ‘Artpop’? Hell no. Gaga sounds wasted in this demo. However, there is a certain ‘uniqueness’ in this demo that is quite appealing. It’s raw, it’s ‘different’, and maybe… is this what ‘Artpop’ should have been about?. We all know ‘Artpop’ didn’t really work for Gaga, as it didn’t sell as expected. And when she said she was going to do ‘artpop’ for her next record, the sound of this demo was the first thing that popped into my head: weird music (or art).
The demo of 'Applause' feels like a canvas on which Gaga has thrown her paint (vocals) in a hilarious manner to create 'art pop'. You know what I mean? In any case, this demo is a must-have for all your Little Monsters out there. Now let me keep bopping to that damn breakdown.
