New Music: Miley Cyrus - "Adore You" (Cedric Gervais Remix) [Full Audio + Review]
Miley Cyrus' first two "Bangerz" singles ruled the charts with quite an easy, however, it's a different story for single #3, the R&B-esque ballad "Adore You". It's not a flop, but it's definitely struggling to be a hit. As of this post, the Oren Yoel-produced track is finding difficult to crack the Top 20 on the Billboard Hot 100 and the Top 10 on iTunes. The single clearly needs help. The problem probably relies on the song lack of pop "edge", that's why RCA and Miley have called French DJ Cedric Gervais for assistance. He's the man responsible for making Lana del Rey's "Summertime Sadness" a resonant hit all around the world with her EDM remix. And now, he's given Miley's "Adore You" that "commercial", "party" edge the R&B-esque balad was probably requiring to "explode".
Isn't it amazing? Miley's beautiful vocals are intact, however the original production has been replaced by a "hype", "care-free" EDM beat. If Cedric won a Grammy for "Best Remixed Recording, Non-Classical" at this year's edition for his "Summertime Sadness" remix, will he take another award home next year for his Miley' re-mix?. First thing first, Cedric's "Adore You" remix needs to hit #1 on the US Hot Dance Club Songs, and then the iTunes sales surge, and Hot 100 climbing will begin.
