Pop star Lady Gaga attended the 2014 MusiCares Person Of The Year Gala, honoring Carole King, on Friday night, Januar 24th. The proceeds, from this kind of dinner party, will benefit MusiCares' health and human services program, "which ensures that people in the music industry have a place to turn in times of financial, medical and personal need". Gaga not only attended the gala, and had dinner, though, she was also a perfomer, alongside the likes of; Sara Bareilles, Gloria Estefan, Bette Midler, Alicia Keys, Martina McBride, Pink, Train, Will.i.am, Steven Tyler, and Jason Mraz. Since the 2014 MusiCares Person Of The Year Gala was a tribute to Carole King (who was also in attendance), all the live performances were covers of her most famous songs. Lady Gaga chose to sing one of Carolie King's all-time classics, "You've Got A Friend". Many praised the "Do What U Want" singer's version of the song; including Bonnie McKee, former Billboard Magazine editor Bill Werde, NARAS Neil Portnow or Dionne Warren, who said "it one of the best performances I've ever seen".
As of this post, only short clips of Lady Gaga's "You've Got A Friend" performance have surfaced. All Instagram-recorded clips. Check them out below! Gaga was wearing a stunning white dress, sunglasses, and sang the song with only a piano.
