For her 2012 tour, Alanis Morissette took her whole family — husband Mario “Souleye” Treadway and their toddler Ever — around the world as the supposed former infatuation junkie supported her eighth studio album, Havoc and Bright Lights.
Along the way, Morissette’s drummer, Victor Indrizzo, kept the cameras rolling. That footage, intercut with Alanis and her crew making like a new age Bob Dylan circa” makes up the new video for Havoc and Bright Lights’ track, “Empathy.”
“This brings tears to my eyes no matter how often I hear it or perform it,” Morissette explains via e-mail. “May it hug your heart in the way it is intended to.”
