“The Spice Girls will tour Australia next year”: Mel B’s mate makes shock announcement on radio

The Spice Girls could be coming to a stadium near you... if you live in Australia

After Posh, Sporty, Baby, Scary and Ginger appeared at the 2012 London Olympics closing ceremony, whizzing about on top of black cabs, we thought we’d never see them perform together again. But not so, if a radio DJ in Australia is to be believed: “This is very much an exclusive announcement to make on the show, that I have just heard about,” 2DayFM DJ Jackie O said live on air (see what other nineties bands have reunited on stage, nipples and all, here) .“All the Spice Girls will be touring Australia. No official announcement has been made, but I have a source, a very reliable source." Jackie O is friends with Mel B, who is also in talks with Simon Cowell to replace Tulisa on X Factor , so we’re guessing she was hinting that it was her, or one of their mutual mates, although she wouldn’t confirm that."I cannot reveal my source, but a very, very good source, and yes, they'll be touring next year... the Spice Girls, huh? Here in Australia! I love Posh... Yes, it will be all the Spice Girls." The girls last toured together during their 2008 reunion but cancelled some dates, including a few in Aus, so maybe they've been feeling a bit guilty. Or maybe they just fancy having a jolly in Australia...
