Christina Aguilera – Beautiful on Hurricane Sandy Coming Together

Christina Aguilera hails from Staten Island, one of the locations hit hardest by Hurricane Sandy, so it's no wonder the 31-year-old singer wanted to join Bruce Springsteen and Bon Jovi to help hurricane victims by performing in the NBC telethon "Hurricane Sandy: Coming Together." "I was born in Staten Island. ... We are here for you. We will do whatever we can to help. We will not leave any one of you behind, because every single one of you matters," Aguilera said to open the show, donning a magenta blazer and colorful streaks in her hair, before the familiar opening piano chords of her 2002 hit single "Beautiful" played. For the emotional performance, Aguilera slowed down the ballad and took some new twists and turns in her signature vocal runs. The song's lyrics took on a whole new meeting as she sang the uplifting track to Sandy's victims.
