Get ready! Miley Cyrus is almost back. “Bangerz” queen has recorded a cover of Melanie Safka’s 1971 classic track “Look What They’ve Done to My Song” for the upcoming Sundance Selects satire “Free the Nipple“, scheduled to hit theaters on December 12, 2014.
According Variety, Cyrus recorded the song last August in two takes. She performed it before, but this version—produced by Nick Littlemore and Peter Mayes—sounds different. The movie director Lina Esco said:
It’s more rock n roll. It’s very Johnny Cash. Her voice is so raw, and the song is so raw
The new version of “Look What They’ve Done to My Song” can be heard during the film’s closing credits. Meanwhile, Miley is working on what will be her next and fifth studio album, planned to be put up for sale in 2015.
