Dr. Dre is set to become Hip-Hop’s first billionaire. A video of the legendary producer/rapper leaked last night (courtesy Of Actor Tyrese Gibson) where Dre confirms a billion dollar deal between his company Beats By Dre and Apple. The Financial Times first broke the news on Thursday that Beats By Dre, co-founded by Dr. Dre and Interscope CEO Jimmy Iovine, was finalizing a deal with Apple to be bought by them for $3.2 billion. “First billionaire in hip-hop, right here on the motherf*ckin west coast,” said Dre in the video, which was posted on Tyrese’s facebook page last night but by morning time had been deleted. Forbes lists Dr. Dre's current worth at $550 million and with him reportedly receiving 25% of all sales Beats By Dre makes, the $3.2 billion deal puts the Compton musician's new worth at over $1.3 billion! Chances are we won't be getting his long-awaited 'Detox' album anytime soon. While whether Dr. Dre will continue to have a role in the company is unknown, the New York Post is reporting Jimmy Iovine has been in talks with Apple to come along as a "special advisor" to Tim Cook (Apple CEO). Next in line to hit the ten digit number in the Hip-Hop community is Diddy, who according to Forbes has a net worth of $700 million.
