Lady Gaga Debuts "Dope" Live at 2013 YouTube Music Awards (Video)
Lady Gaga performed at the first ever YouTube Music Awards held at Pier 36 in New York City on Sunday (November 3rd). The pop phenom took the stage, wearing a cap, a red checkered shirt and no wig, to sing the song "Dope", only helped by a piano. "Dope", written by Gaga and produced by Rick Rubin, is a track from the singer's third full-length album "Artpop", which arrives in stores on November 11th. Watch video below. "Dope" was previously known as "I Wanna Be With You". In fact, Lady Gaga performed the heartfelt ballad during her set at the 2013 iTunes Festival in London. However, just a month later, it was announced Gaga had made modifications to the song, going from a fan song to a darker, more serious one. Loved both versions, honestly. But, certainly "Dope" strikes as something more interesting to hear. As for her performance at the 2013 YouTube Music Awards, Lady Gaga nailed it. All the emotions oozing from the lyrics could be felt.
