Jessie J Debuts 'Excuse My Rude' & 'It's My Party' Live at 'V Festival', Unveils Artwork
Jessie J performed at the main stage on Day 1 of 2013's 'V Festival' in London on Saturday, August 17, the same day Queen Beyoncé headlined and debuted her new shorter hair do in concert. Anyway, Jessie J took this 'V Festival' gig to first; perform live for the first time ever her latest singles; "It's My Party" (official next single, out September 15th in the UK) and "Excuse My Rude" (buzz single featuring Becky G who obviously wasn't invited to the first performance of her collab with Jessie J. She's THAT irrelevant.), and second, give the sea of festival-goers a world exclusive. Jessie J had displayed on the two big screens of the stage the official cover of her upcoming sophomore album, who she also announced to be titled "Alive". Jessie J's new studio work is to hit Britain stores on September 23rd. So first the performances. Jessie J killed it with "Excuse My Rude". I am so feeling this song. It's Jessie J going back to her 'essence', plus it gives me "Do It Like A Dude" teas. Unfortunately for her, even with a live performance now, I am still not getting "It's My Party", and still think it will flop on the UK charts when released next month. Song is 'uninspired generic pop', and I do not like that kind of genericness.
As for her new album title and official artwork. I like the title (although LOL at the irony if this actually flops...she could later re-name the album to 'Moribund', though), and the cover is fine. You can tell the photo is also part of the 'Wild' single cover photoshoot. Her name is written at the left top, the word "Alive', in bigger letters, in centered below, and the main Jessie J shot sees her, from the chest up, topless, with her blonde super short hair and wearing two huge earings, looking straight to camera, with a vague expression.
